Free Climbing the Totem Pole

Photograph by Simon Carter
Would you ever try free climbing? No ropes, no support, just you and the rock.

These Australian climbers did just that and are seen here climbing the Totem Pole, a slender 215 foot high column, in Tasmania, Australia. Would you be brave enough to try something this extreme?

Climbing in Iceland

Here is 16 year old veteran ice climber Tim Emmett climbing Iceland's Myrdalsjokull Glacier.

Emmett and climbing partner Dawn Glanc spent ten days exploring new routes and meeting locals. Initially they were looking for an icefall to climb but during their time in Iceland the weather was having a warm spell so had to find a glacier instead.

This certainly is a surreal moment and looks stunning!

Adili Wuxor - the tightrope walker!

Image from News.cn
Adili Wuxor, one of China's most famous tightrope walkers, has completed a walk over the Pearl River in Guangzhou.

The 32-year-old wore no safety harness as he walked 500 metres, between Guangzhou's Canton Tower and a sculpture in front of Haixinsha Stadium.

One of Wuxor's students also took part in the performance, which he was lying down on the wire while his teacher walked over him.

This surely is incredible and brave, we wonder if he rewarded himself with one of our Grasshopper noodles.
