The snow has both its ups and its downs, of course the ups being the kids can have hours of outdoor fun making their very own Olaf. And the downs, well the fact that it literally does take hours… in the freezing cold. Can you think of anything worse than a standing in the cold with numb fingers and toes? We can… and that's standing in the cold and being hungry! The cold, frosty, wintery weather has definitely arrived and it doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon. It's the perfect time to get those skate on and glide across the ice (or maybe fall)... depending on your skills.

Climbing in Iceland

Here is 16 year old veteran ice climber Tim Emmett climbing Iceland's Myrdalsjokull Glacier.

Emmett and climbing partner Dawn Glanc spent ten days exploring new routes and meeting locals. Initially they were looking for an icefall to climb but during their time in Iceland the weather was having a warm spell so had to find a glacier instead.

This certainly is a surreal moment and looks stunning!
