Put your shorts away and grab your wellies... autumn is here, and it looks like it's staying.
Well... after plenty of summer adventures its finally time to put away the barbecue, although this doesn't mean that you can't still explore the British country side, just make sure you pack your gloves and of course... your hopper pots!
There are so many places to explore that are right on our door step not many of us know about them. The National Trust are holding plenty of guided walks throughout the autumn months you have no excuse to stay in doors and hide form the cold!

The Fast Diet made easy!
By now everyone has head of the hot fasting diet, known as the 5:2.
As the name suggests, the diet itself follows a 5:2 regime that allows you to eat normally for five days (without over indulging!), and for the remaining two days you cut your calorie intake to 500 for women and 600 for men each day!
Read more about the fast diet online, www.thefastdiet.co.uk
But it's not easy finding foods with micro calories which taste good, fill you up and more importantly, are healthy. That's why Grasshopper is perfect... we understand the need to eat well and stay healthy, that's why out products contain only natural ingredients which are low in calories. Don't let that scare you though - our pots are full of delicious flavours.
So on your two fasting days you can take a your pick of Grasshopper's healthy, energy-providing and filling porridges, soups and noodles - they start at just 100 cal for a pot of Mushroom & Chive soup, up to 239 cal for the Coconut & Date porridge, so there's lots of choice.

The Porridge Cleanser!
![]() |
eatsimpleloveyoga.com |
Oats can help relieve itchiness, irritations and redness as well as absorbing the dirt and impurities, whilst exfoliating the skin without all the harmful chemicals that some beauty and skincare products have in them, making them the perfect cleansing product.
This is an all-natural way to exfoliate and cleanse the face. If you want to give it a go then follow these easy steps:
1. Grab a plan full of porridge oats, we suggest using our Porridge with added Cane Sugar. The sugar will help exfoliate those tough dry patches.
2. Clench your fingers together into a fist and run under lukewarm water for around 10 seconds. The water should seep through the gaps of your fingers and be partly soaked up by the oats.
3. Open up your first and the oats should feel saturated and soft, if not add a couple of drops/splashes of water until they do. Spend around a minute massaging them into the face. This can be quite messy so make sure you are leaning over the basin at this point.
4. Rinse face with lukewarm water, to help remove the remaining oats and sugar, then pat face dry. Finish off be applying a moisturiser of your choice.

Half term fun!
It's nearly half term and keeping the kids entertained can be quite the challenge. Well we have come up with some activities that can keep the whole family happy over the half term week!
1. Get Crafty
With Halloween next week it's the perfect opportunity to create some spooky decorations. It's time to get out the crayons, paints and paper, and get creative! It's also a chance to start making home-made Christmas cards, as the festive holiday is just around the corner.
2. Head Out Into Autumn
If the weather is fine why not head to your local park or out into the countryside, enjoy the fresh air and nature around. October is great time to go for walks and see the glorious colours that are now around as Autumn has arrived - it's a chance to see nature and even wildlife! Remember to keep yourself fueled up, why not try our delicious Grasshopper Pots?
3. Trick-or-Treating
As Halloween falls over half term it's the perfect opportunity to take the kids trick-or-treating, it's time to put on those scary costumes and see what treats you can get.
4. Movie Time
Watching a film is a great way to keep the kids entertained, whether you decide to go to the cinema to see a new release or stay at home watching a family favourite - it's the perfect to keep them quite for a couple of hours!
5. Explore
Being at home can be boring sometimes seeing the same things over again, if you want a different view then pop on a train, bus or in the car and go explore somewhere new! Take a couple of days away from home, at a cosy B&B or country hotel.
These are just a few ideas for you. How will you be keeping the kids entertained over half term?

Have you seen today's Daily Mail?
We have and there's some great information about keeping healthy. Whilst looking through something caught our attention... porridge! As you all know we are always being told to increase the friendly bacteria in our gut, but in the article Dr Christoffer Van Tulleken says "forget those trendy probiotic drinks - just eat more porridge'!
